Individual Member Grants

Learning the world of banking, credit cards and credit scores, while necessary, can be daunting and confusing. Junket grants have helped members start small, with secured credit cards and bank accounts, and many have come out with not only with active checking and savings accounts but also with a credit score in the 700’s, after having very little or no credit just six months prior! It’s one baby step after another, but the progress has felt giant.

Covering training, tutoring and application fees has helped Junket members overcome previous barriers and allowed for continuing education working toward each of their professional goals. Having support in their corner has helped build confidence and enabled many to take real steps toward professional growth that maybe wouldn’t have felt possible on their own.

Helping create a stable home environment makes space to think without all the chaos. This can include making repairs, obtaining furniture or necessary appliances, assisting with finding affordable housing, and also supporting the family and household as a whole. Junket has always functioned as an extended family and we take that role seriously in wanting to support each of our members so that they feel encouraged and at peace in their homes.

Navigating the legal system can be a nightmare, even in the best of circumstances, and most times the cost can be harrowing. However, when a custody or immigration situation can be handled quickly and efficiently, more focus can be placed on family and working toward goals. Grant funds have been used to ease the particularly stressful burden of legal pressure and provide moral support throughout the process.

Maintaining a reliable phone and internet connection is essential to being successful. It’s hard for many of us to imagine life without our internet-enabled phone within our reach at all times. We take for granted the ease and convenience it provides, not to mention the connection with society.
